Overview: School of Digital Arts
The School of Digital Arts aims at training high-quality and highly-skilled professionals who have grasped the basic theory of digital arts and mastered the contemporary digital technology tools. In recent ten years, it has cultivated a large number of qualified graduates for the society. The School has three types of majors, namely Fine Arts, Music and Science and Engineering, and has formed a specialty group related to digital arts. At present, there are five majors: Virtual Reality Application Technology, Digital Media Application Technology, Visual Communication Art Design, Recording Technology and Art, and Digital Media Art Design.
The School has built a teaching team led by academic leaders and featuring a school-enterprise combination, reasonable structure, remarkable teaching achievements and distinct team spirit. The “dual-qualified teachers” account for 70%. There are also 20 part-time teachers consisting of national industry experts, famous designers, enterprise technical engineers, etc.
The School has various training rooms, such as graphic design room, two-dimensional animation room, three-dimensional animation room, digital audio MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) room, digital recording and tuning room, digital hand drawing-room, and photo studio, as well as the art exhibition center, the project research and development center, and art training center, etc. By cooperating with many enterprises, it is also trying to establish some studios or R & D centers for related disciplines to strengthen all-round cooperation with industrial enterprises. The existing studios include animation game production studio, application development studio, holographic projection project studio, package design studio, graphic design studio, interactive design studio, recording studio, and photo studio, etc., which are gradually forming “studios” as the platform for research and development projects, teaching and training. These studios are equipped with professional teachers, who have won many national, provincial and design industry awards. The works designed and produced by students have also won high praise in school exchanges at home and abroad and school-enterprise exchanges.
