Overview: School of Network and Communication
The School of Network and Communication offers specialties such as Communication Technology, Telecom Services and Management, Cloud Computing Technology and Application, Application Technology of Internet of Things, Computer Network Technology, and Mobile Communication Technology. The Communication Technology specialty group is part of the Construction of the High-level Higher Vocational Colleges and Specialties with Chinese Characteristics. The school, with nearly 3,000 students, trains non-commissioned officers majoring in Communication Technology and Computer Network Technology for the Navy, Air Force and Rocket Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, and enrolls international students with academic qualifications from ASEAN countries to serve the “the Belt and Road Initiative”.
Among its full-time teachers, the school has two Provincial Teaching Masters, two training recipients of the “333 Project” of Jiangsu Province, two Young and Middle-aged Academic Leaders of Qinglan Project of Jiangsu Province, and three Outstanding Young Core Teachers of provincial Qinglan Project. It also boasts Jiangsu Provincial Mobile Communication Technology Core Curriculum Teaching Team, Jiangsu Provincial Communication Technology Core Curriculum Teaching Team and Jiangsu Provincial Cloud Computing Technology and Application Teaching Team. More than 35% of its full-time teachers have the deputy senior titles or above. More than 80% of teachers have the qualifications of system analyst, project architect, senior programmer, and certified lecturers of Huawei, ZTE and Alibaba Cloud, and nearly 90% are Dual-qualified Teachers.
The school adheres to guidelines of the school-enterprise cooperation and features a work-study combination, forming a school-enterprise joint education mode led by well-known enterprises (Huawei, ZTE, Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud), supported by regional backbone enterprises (China Communications Technology Co., Ltd., China Utone Construction Consulting Co., Ltd., etc.), and using the platforms provided by corporate universities (Huawei Training Institute, ZTE University, Sunyard Enterprise Training Park, Alibaba Cloud Big Data Industry College, Tencent Cloud Talent Training Base).
The school has a national Network and Communication Engineering Training Base, a Value-added Service Research and Development and Testing Technology Service Center of Jiangsu Province, a Communication Industry Vocational Skills Appraisal Base of Jiangsu Province, and a ZTE Customer and Service Authorized Outsourcer Training Base, etc. It took the lead in formulating the teaching standards and training conditions construction standards of higher vocational Communication Technology specialty and the teaching standards for Telecom Services and Management major issued by the Ministry of Education. The school also presided over the construction project of the national teaching resource database of Communication Technology specialty, with three National Excellent Open Online Courses. Meanwhile, the school is also a provincial certification authority for “1+X” certificate of projects like 5G technology and application, Internet of Things application technology, and cloud computing platform operation, maintenance and development, etc., which can fully meet various needs of academic education and social services.
