On November 22, the 2024 Vocational School Campus Cultural Development Seminar was held in Guangzhou. This event was hosted by the Vocational School Cultural Quality Education Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education and jointly organized by the Campus Cultural Development Subcommittee of the Committee and Guangdong Mechanical and Electrical Polytechnic. Notable attendees included Zhu Aisheng, Vice Chairman of the Vocational School Cultural Quality Education Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education and Chairman of the Campus Cultural Development Subcommittee, and Lan Xianglong, Vice Chairman of the Campus Cultural Development Subcommittee. The seminar gathered over 60 representatives from nearly 30 vocational schools across 15 provinces and municipalities, including Guangdong, Jiangsu, Chongqing, Heilongjiang, Hebei, Hunan, Hubei, and Zhejiang.
Through in-depth exchanges and discussions, this seminar aims to summarize the successful experience and innovative practices of vocational schools in campus cultural development, analyze the current new situation and tasks, and study and formulate specific measures and implementation plans for further strengthening the campus cultural development of vocational schools.
At the seminar, Chairman Zhu Aisheng delivered a special speech, emphasizing the important position and role of campus cultural development in vocational school education. Zuo Pengjun, a second-level professor and doctoral supervisor at South China Normal University, delivered a special report on campus cultural development, providing new ideas and enlightenment for campus cultural development in vocational schools. Qi Jun, President of Guangdong Mechanical and Electrical Polytechnic, delivered a welcome speech. The excellent cases of 14 schools selected by the host were included in the National Excellent Case Library of Campus Cultural Brands, and representatives from 12 schools delivered speeches. Wu Xiaohuan, a member of the CPC Committee and Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Committee of the Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology (NJCIT), delivered a report titled Honor, Landscape, Brand: 70 Years of NJCIT's 'Sunflower' Culture, sharing NJCIT's practical experience and innovative measures in developing the Sunflower culture across four aspects: Nurturing the core culture of Blossoming Towards the Sun to enhance the educational foundation for student development; fostering the Daily Progress scenic culture to refining innovation and creativity skills; cultivating the Ordered Petals rule culture to instill a spirit of professionalism and craftsmanship; nourishing the Teammate collective culture to build a strong sense of responsibility and team spirit. NJCIT's achievements in cultural development have been highly praised by the Steering Committee and colleagues present!
The successful holding of this seminar not only provides a communication platform for improving campus cultural development in vocational schools but also injects new vitality and impetus into the prosperous development of campus culture in vocational schools. In the future, NJCIT will continue to deepen the Sunflower cultural education system and inspire all teachers and students to forge ahead with the core tenets of being sunny, upward, centripetal, and collective and become a golden engine leading the high-quality development of NJCIT.
