On November 2, the finals of the ChineseALL Cup 2024 Information Literacy Competition of Higher Vocational Colleges in Jiangsu Province came to a successful end. The competition was sponsored by the Library and Information Work Committee of Jiangsu Universities and the Professional Construction Committee of Higher Vocational College Libraries of the Library and Information Work Committee of Jiangsu Universities, organized by Wuxi Vocational College of Science and Technology and co-organized by Hubei ChineseAll Digital Publishing Co., Ltd.
This year's competition was held online, with 238 students from 49 higher vocational colleges in Jiangsu Province participating. The library of NJCIT selected five students to participate in the Information Literacy Competition of Higher Vocational Colleges in Jiangsu Province. After fierce competition, Xu Haipeng from the School of Electronic Information won the first prize in the provincial competition, Zhou Dongta from the School of Artificial Intelligence won the second prize, Cheng Liangjin from the School of Electronic Information won the third prize, Zhou Yueyou, Yuan Fang and Chen Xue won the Outstanding Instructor Award, and NJCIT won the Outstanding Organization Award.
Information literacy is the essential skill needed for college students to adapt to the information society. In the information era, possessing strong information literacy can help do things faster, better and more efficiently, thus laying a good foundation for autonomic and lifelong learning. The Information Literacy Competition of Higher Vocational Colleges in Jiangsu Province aimed to implement the spirit of the Education Informatization 2.0 Action Plan issued by the Ministry of Education, vigorously promote information literacy education, cultivate students' ability to retrieve, analyze and use information, and stimulate students' enthusiasm for learning. Since the launch of the competition, the Library actively organized students to prepare for the competition and held NJCIT's 6th Information Literacy Competition. Through the first and second rounds of the contests, as well as training and selection of students, it combined theoretical education of information literacy with practical retrieval, striving to improve the level of information literacy of NJCIT students, and finally won honor for NJCIT.
