From October 24 to 27, 2024, the Jiangsu Craftsman Job Training Vocational Skills Competition—2024 Jiangsu Surveying and Mapping Industry UAV Vocational Skills Competition was successfully held. This competition was guided by the Department of Human Resources and Social Security of Jiangsu Province and the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Natural Resources and hosted by the Jiangsu Society for Geodesy Photogrammetry and Cartography, the Vocational Education Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Taoxingzhi Studies, and Jiangsu Air Sports Federation. Teachers and students from the School of Network and Communication and Non-commissioned Officer Academy participated in UAV surveying and mapping as well as UAV driving contests, winning 1 first prize, 4 second prizes, and 2 third prizes. Zhang Yuanheng won the first prize of the student group for UAV surveying and mapping.
The competition adopted the mode of theory + practical operation, and the total score was calculated by weighting the theory score (20%) and the practical operation score (80%). A comprehensive examination of the contestants' skills in route planning, data organization, and driving control was conducted. Upholding the philosophy of promoting teaching through competition and promoting learning through competition, NJCIT's schools will continue to strengthen training in the future to cultivate talents for UAV surveying and mapping as well as driving, thereby promoting high-quality talent development.
