Great News! Good Results of Teachers and Students from the School of Intelligent Transportation in the 19th "Challenge Cup" "Selection of the Best" Special Competition

From November 15 to 17, the final of the 19th Challenge Cup National College Students' Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Contest—2024 Selection of the Best Special Competition was held in Hangzhou. The competition was jointly organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the All-China Students' Federation. Under the guidance of teachers Duan Fude, Wang Hongran, and Jia Suhui, the Hybrid Tractor Power System Assembly Research and Development project independently designed by the team of Qin Yu, Chen Yu, and other students from the School of Intelligent Transportation won the third prize in the national competition after fierce competition!

Focusing on the topic of Scheme Design and Key Technology Research and Development of New Generation Hybrid Power Agricultural Machinery put forward by Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd., a new differential power coupling system for tractors was designed in this project. The system has a simple structure and high transmission efficiency, which can realize the step-less adjustment of the transmission ratio under various working conditions of tractors, provide important technical support for the development of high-power tractor technology, and solve the technical problem of poor fuel economy caused by great load fluctuations of high-power tractors.

The Challenge Cup National College Students' Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Contest is a guided, exemplary, and mass competition jointly organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the All-China Students' Federation, and the provincial people's governments in the corresponding regions. It is known as the Olympic event for scientific and technological innovation of contemporary college students. The Selection of the Best Special Competition in 2024 has set up a track for college students and a track for young scientific and technological talents. A total of 27,000 people from all over the country participated in the competition, with a total of 6,500 entries. Finally, more than 1,950 entries from more than 410 higher education institutions and enterprises across China were shortlisted for the final review.

NJCIT and its schools have attached great importance to this competition and invited experts to guide the roadshows many times to help teachers and students actively prepare for the competition. In the future, the School of Intelligent Transportation will take this event as a new starting point and use competitions such as the Challenge Cup and China International College Students' Innovation Competition as important carriers to train students, enhance their innovation ability, cultivate more innovative talents, and contribute to the high-quality development of NJCIT.
