Great News: NJCIT Wins the 2024 "Governor's Cup" Jiangsu University Student Football League Finals (Men's Group Finals of Higher Vocational and Technical College Group)

From November 3 to 8, the 2024 Governor's Cup Jiangsu University Student Football League Finals (men's group finals of the higher vocational and technical college group) were held at Jiangsu College of Nursing in Huai'an. This competition was co-hosted by the Jiangsu Education Department and the Jiangsu Provincial Sports Bureau for the first time. After the pre-qualification, a total of 8 strong teams across the province entered the finals.

Under the enthusiastic care of school leaders, the Department of Physical Education took the initiative in planning for the competition and organized coaches to hold several seminars on training plan formulation. Through scientific planning and careful organization, the NJCIT football team stepped up its training in spare time under the leadership of teachers Wen Xiang and Xi Jinxing and participated in a number of friendly matches before the finals to get the players prepared and build up their stamina. After selection, NJCIT sent a team of 20 players to participate in the finals. In the high-intensity and strong competition, players from NJCIT defied strong enemies, united as one, fought tenaciously, and played with an elegant demeanor. Even if the main team members are injured or ill, the ample number of backup players can ensure timely replacement. In the end, the team won the championship in the finals involving a total of 8 teams. This is the second time that NJCIT has won the championship, following the win in the 2023 Governor Cup Jiangsu University Student Football League Finals.

This achievement is inseparable from NJCIT's high attention to football, the attentive guidance of the teachers, and the inheritance and hard work of NJCIT students. The NJCIT football team will continue to embrace new challenges and opportunities with more enthusiasm and firmer belief. We believe that with the joint efforts of all players, our team will surely be able to shine more brightly in the future and continue to write a more brilliant chapter!

This competition not only showed the competitive level of our football team but also demonstrated the achievements made by NJCIT in cultivating talent who will fully develop socialism and carry forward the socialist cause with all-around development of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor. In the future, the Department of Physical Education will actively cooperate with other functional departments and schools (departments) to add glory to NJCIT and make new contributions to sports education.
