In order to enable international students to personally experience the garden art in ancient Chinese paintings and have a deeper understanding and appreciation of traditional Chinese culture, the School of International Education organized a series of national conditions education activities themed Gardens in Ancient Chinese Paintings in the activity room on the second floor of NJCIT One-stop Student Community on the evening of October 31 at the invitation of the School of Digital Arts.

At the beginning of the activity, students from the School of Digital Arts vividly told international students about the long history of Chinese garden painting and stories about Chinese garden architecture in an illustrative way. Videos presenting Kunqu Opera and Suzhou Pingtan were played for the audience to learn about the culture derived from Chinese gardens. In the interaction session, international students learned how to draw beautiful landscape paintings with waste paper and brushes, depict the world outside the window in their eyes with the unique lattice window structure of gardens, and paint colorful koi carps via paint spraying under the guidance of students from the School of Digital Arts.

This activity has not only enabled international students to experience the artistic charm of Chinese gardens, but also enhanced their understanding of traditional Chinese culture. The School of International Education will continue to utilize excellent traditional Chinese cultural resources inside and outside the school, thus contributing its share to promoting cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign students.
