The Intelligent Electronic Product Design and Development Category (Higher Vocational College Group) of the World Vocational College Skills Competition 2024 took place from October 28 to 30 at Yantai Vocational College. A total of 61 teams from across China participated in this competition. Three students from the School of Electronic Information of NJCIT, Tu Yi, Li Xiang, and Gu Zixuan, showcased their exceptional skills and won the gold medal under the guidance of teachers Cui Xiuhua and Li Bin.
The year 2024 marks the first year of reform for the National Competition for Skills of Vocational Education. The traditional National Competition for Skills of Vocational Education has been upgraded to the World Vocational College Skills Competition, significantly increasing the difficulty and fierceness of the competition. The competition focuses on assessing students' comprehensive skills, practical abilities, teamwork, adaptability, and expression skills.
In preparation for the competition, the leadership team of the School of Electronic Information organized participating students and teachers to engage in discussions based on the new competition rules, and conducted research at companies like Rflight Communication Electronic Co., Ltd. to develop ideas for project design. The guiding teachers and participating students overcame various challenges such as tight preparation time and changing rules, and engaged in intensive practice day and night, finally achieving outstanding results. This competition showcased our students' solid professional knowledge, forward-thinking design concepts, and remarkable teamwork capabilities, highlighting NJCIT’s professional advantages and strengths in the field of intelligent electronic product design and development.
The success achieved at the competition is attributed to the strong support from leaders of the School of Electronic Information and NJCIT, reflecting a high level of emphasis on technical skills training across the school and NJCIT. Special thanks also go to Deputy Director Zhang Zhiwei for his on-site guidance. With his extensive experience, he provided valuable suggestions for the project presentation. The School of Electronic Information has continuously worked on cultivating high-quality, high-skill, and highly innovative interdisciplinary talent. Through optimizing curriculum, strengthening practical teaching, and deepening school-enterprise cooperation, we provide students with broad learning and development platforms. The School of Electronic Information will continue to uphold the philosophy of promoting teaching through competition and promoting learning through competition, further enhancing students' professional skills and comprehensive qualities, and strengthening their core competitiveness in employment.
