On the evening of October 29, the Youth Night School series of activities at the one-stop student community of Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology (NJCIT) added new excitement with a Coffee Latte Art Making Class held in the cozy Salon Hall. The course attracted 20 young teachers and students from various departments and schools, embarking on a journey to explore the coffee latte art.
In the classroom, the experienced coffee trainer systematically explained the origin of coffee, flavor characteristics, the art of roasting coffee beans, professional equipment needed for latte art, and the selection of dairy products from a professional perspective. Through vivid explanations, the trainees gained a preliminary yet comprehensive understanding of latte art, developing strong interest in this craft.
The course reached a climax with the hands-on session. The trainer, combining board notes and live demonstrations, meticulously taught the secrets of milk frothing, the basic principles of latte art, and the necessary skills and steps involved. Following this, the trainer personally demonstrated and guided trainees in practical exercises related to frothing milk, controlling heating temperatures, and utilizing latte art techniques. Under the trainer's careful guidance, trainees practiced pouring milk from a height into coffee, gradually lowering the pouring height to create beautiful designs at the surface. Cups of latte coffee with delicate lines and distinct layers were skillfully crafted by the trainees. The classroom was filled with rich coffee aromas and cheerful laughter.
Through exchanging insights and sharing experiences, the trainees not only improved their coffee-making skills but also tasted the coffee they made themselves, relishing the sense of accomplishment and joy that came from their labor. Additionally, the event helped to bridge the gap between schoolmates, enhancing their friendships.
Xiao Yunxiang, a freshman majoring in Intelligent Control Technology, said excitedly, Through this course, I not only learned about the ingredient requirements for coffee latte art but also participated in the coffee-making process. I acquired many latte art techniques and gained a lot from it.
At the event, Wen Peixian, a deputy college leader, and Lin Hong, a member of the CPC Committee and Secretary of the General CPC Branch of NJCIT, jointly lit the startup lamp for the Youth Night School activities at the one-stop student community. Lin Hong passionately encouraged young students to make full use of their free evening time, actively participate in the Youth Night School activities, seize this valuable learning opportunity, and strive to improve themselves by mastering a skill.
In the next step, the Student Affairs Department of the CPC Committee will continue to deepen the construction of the one-stop student community, closely align with the actual needs of young students, integrate diverse high-quality resources, and work to create a community-based Youth Night School that is warm, profound, and elevated. By hosting a variety of night school activities, NJCIT aims to provide young students with more platforms and opportunities to learn skills, make friends, enrich their lives, and achieve self-improvement, aiding their overall growth and development.
