The national finals of the Integrated Circuit Design and Application Contest (Higher Vocational College Group) of the 2024 Belt & Road and BRICS Skills Development & Technology Innovation Competition (hereinafter referred to as BRICS Skills Competition) successfully concluded at Henan Mechanical and Electrical Vocational College in Zhengzhou, Henan Province on October 27, 2024. During the Integrated Circuit Design and Application Contest of the BRICS Skills Competition, more than 100 teams from across the country engaged in fierce competition. Ultimately, under the guidance of instructors Tang Shoulong and Han Meng, the Chip Without End team composed of students Shen Shuyi, Liang Yuefeng and Zheng Xinjie majoring in integrated circuit technology (microelectronic technology) of the School of Electronic Information won the national first prize; students Miao Genlian, Wang Yusheng and Yang Jirong majoring in electronic information won the national third prize under the guidance of instructors Hu Xiaoli and Cui Xiuhua.
The Integrated Circuit Design and Application Contest of the BRICS Skills Competition is a skills competition for the integrated circuit industry organized by the BRICS Business Council, the International Alliance of Skills Development for Belt and Road and BRICS Countries, and the Belt & Road and BRICS Skills Development and Technology Innovation Training Center of China Association for Science and Technology, jointly with Qingdao QSTSKING Microelectronics Technology Co., Ltd., a leading enterprise in China. It aims to promote the reform of the course system and content of integrated circuit (microelectronics) discipline in higher vocational colleges and improve students' ability to solve practical problems encountered in integrated circuit layout design.
This competition fully demonstrated NJCIT students' solid foundation in professional knowledge and their strong capabilities in engineering practice, problem-solving skills, and teamwork. It also showcased the solid expertise, rich competition experience, and selfless dedication of the instructors of NJCIT.
