In midwinter, the fragrant osmanthus blossoms. In autumn, we set sail for our dreams. At 18:30 on September 29, the Flying Dream and Blossoming Youth—Variety Show to Celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China and Welcome New Students grandly kicked off at NJCIT's playground. Qian Qunlei, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee, Wu Xiaohuan, Member of the CPC Committee and Director of the Publicity Department, and leaders from various functional departments and schools gathered together with the 2024 freshmen to enjoy an audiovisual feast.
The event kicked off with the songs River and Do You Want to Dance brought by Wenlan 99 Band. The cheerful melody and passionate singing stimulated the on-site atmosphere. It started with the song and dance performance ONE SPARK by the Pop Dance Troupe of the College Student Art Troupe. The song Love You in Summer by the Chorus of the College Student Art Troupe was intoxicating with the melodious accompaniment of the saxophone. The performance and Eloquence Club's sketch Internet Physical Examination warned college students to keep away from the trap of online consumption gimmicks in a humorous way. Martial arts, free combat, taekwondo, and cheerleading performances brought by sports competitive associations and the Department of Physical Education showed NJCIT students' resolute foundation in martial arts and their sports spirit of never giving up.
In the middle of the event, the Youth League Committee specially invited the College Student Art Troupe of Nanjing Normal University to perform the erhu ensemble Action of Light and dance Jasmine, presenting a special gift for students enrolled in 2024 at NJCIT. The singer of Monkey King appeared stunningly from the audience in a costume of Sun Wukong, and the dance of Hanya Anime Club, To the Moon, drew on the integration and innovation of multi-ethnic elements, allowing everyone to appreciate the charm of excellent traditional Chinese culture.
At the end of the event, the Chorus of the College Student Art Troupe sang songs such as What If, Reborn, Let Me Stay with You, and No Makeup, which resonated with the audience and attracted thousands of people to sing along. The 12 girls dressed in traditional Han clothing brought a magnificent show to the audience. Students from the Publicity Department of the Youth League Committee recited Fighters in Youth, which was passionate, perfectly demonstrating the determination and belief of NJCIT youth to take responsibility for Chinese modernization. The event came to a successful conclusion with warm applause from the audience.
This event was held to study, publicize, and implement the guiding principles of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and welcome new students enrolled in 2024. It was also a vivid practice of carrying out ideological and political education for all the 2024 freshmen. The Youth League Committee focuses on cultivating people through aesthetics and culture and continues to carry out initiatives for aesthetic education. It coordinates various campus cultural activities, including the Science and Technology Cultural Arts Festival, Creative Culture Festival, Club Parade Festival, Elegant Arts on Campus, Campus Music Festival, and the Top Ten Singers Competition. These activities promote the excellent traditional culture of China and create a strong campus cultural atmosphere, contributing youthful energy to the new round of double high-level construction and realizing the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
