NJCIT Undertakes the "AI + Higher Education Innovation and Development Forum"

From September 21 to 22, 2024, the AI + Higher Education Innovation and Development Forum & Advanced Seminar on General Education of AI was successfully held at the Xianlin Campus of Nanjing University. It is sponsored by the Jiangsu Association for Higher Education, Jiangsu Association of Artificial Intelligence, and Jiangsu Computer Society, and co-organized by Nanjing University, Jiangsu University, Nanjing Tech University, Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press. This forum brought together experts, scholars, and educators from universities, industries, and enterprises across the country to discuss new concepts, paths, and methods of AI education. There were more than 400 participants, 3/4 of whom came from well-known undergraduate universities such as Xi'an Jiaotong University and Southeast University, and 1/4 from higher vocational colleges.

Tian Min, President of NJCIT, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. President Tian first introduced the achievements of NJCIT in AI vocational education, including its exploratory work in fields such as building concentric circles of AI major clusters and developing AI general courses for the whole school, with a focus on cultivating students' AI literacy and application abilities. President Tian stressed the importance of industry-education integration and focused on the cooperation between NJCIT and leading enterprises such as Huawei and H3C to set up special classes for AI, participate in the formulation of national talent training standards and other industry-education integration projects, and promote the construction of NJCIT's AI major, which was unanimously praised by guests and industry scholars.

In the following activities, Professor He Miao, Dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence, NJCIT, delivered a forum report on Major Cluster-Oriented AI Empowering General Course Construction and Teaching Exploration, reporting to the forum about the relevant construction and implementation achievements of NJCIT in the field of AI general courses, sharing and promoting the experience of NJCIT and expanding the influence of NJCIT's AI talent training mode.

With the rapid development of AI technology, universal education in AI has gradually become an important part of higher education. NJCIT actively responds to the call of the state and is committed to promoting the construction of general courses on AI and the training of talents for the comprehensive application of AI, thus contributing to the innovative development of AI education. NJCIT's successful organization of this event not only provides an exchange and cooperation platform for AI education in universities in Jiangsu Province but also provides new ideas and directions for similar vocational colleges in the construction of AI general courses and talent training. In the future, NJCIT will continue to work hard to create a NJCIT Model for promoting the innovative development of AI education.
