To implement the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of South Africa in the Field of Higher Education and Training and respond to the XV BRICS Summit Johannesburg II Declaration in 2023, a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Training of South Africa was invited to visit China. The delegation, led by Samuel Zamokuhle Zungu, Deputy Director-General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Training of South Africa, came to study China's new models of vocational education development.
On August 4, the delegation visited NJCIT. They toured the School of Network and Communication and the smart training base jointly built by Nanjing Zhongxing Xinyada and NJCIT. The delegation expressed great interest in the global training center built with telecom-grade commercial equipment. After the tour, representatives from NJCIT, the enterprise, and the delegation held in-depth discussions on topics such as international school-enterprise cooperation, global vocational education standards, developing a talent echelon for international markets, training international students in China, and empowering global industries. At the meeting, Cao Xue, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department, welcomed the delegation on behalf of NJCIT. Cao gave an introduction to NJCIT, its educational philosophy, international exchanges, and school-enterprise cooperation. Cao also expressed NJCIT's desire to collaborate with South Africa in co-creating international vocational standards and promoting exchanges between faculty and students.
The South African delegation members expressed that they gained a lot from this visit, and were impressed by NJCIT's development model and achievements in international exchange programs. In recent years, the cooperation between China and Africa has deepened significantly. Building on its existing partnerships, NJCIT will leverage this opportunity to focus on cultivating high-quality international vocational talent. Efforts will center on expanding collaboration in areas such as international digital education, integration of global enterprises, universities, research institutes, and end-users, and youth innovation and entrepreneurship. By broadening educational exchanges with African nations and improving its institutional mechanisms, NJCIT will continue to make a greater contribution to China-Africa youth exchanges.
