Recently, the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) officially announced the first batch of Chinese member institutions expansion list for the China-Africa TVET Cooperation Consortium. After NJCIT's active application and expert review organized by CEAIE, NJCIT, along with 19 other sister colleges nationwide, successfully made the list. The newly included 20 colleges cover multiple industries and specialties including engineering, healthcare, and agriculture, with outstanding educational advantages, high levels of internationalization, and significant achievements in cooperation with Africa.
This inclusion marks an important milestone for NJCIT in the field of international exchange and cooperation. It signifies that NJCIT's efforts in helping Chinese vocational education standards go global and innovating vocational education aid models have reached a new level, opening a new chapter for NJCIT's international cooperation in vocational education with Africa. In the future, NJCIT will leverage the consortium to give full play to its initiative and proactivity, actively undertake projects of the consortium, and conduct comprehensive international exchanges and cooperation with Africa through multiple forms and channels. NJCIT will continuously expand the depth and breadth of cooperation with African vocational institutions, enhancing its service capabilities while expanding NJCIT's influence.
The China-Africa TVET Cooperation Consortium was primarily initiated based on the framework of the Ministry of Education's Future of Africa China-Africa Vocational Education Cooperation Plan. This initiative further implements the guidelines of President Xi Jinping's speech at the 8th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), deeply promotes China-Africa vocational education cooperation and exchange, and actively advances several projects under the Future of Africa China-Africa Vocational Education Cooperation Plan. In May 2022, the consortium was jointly launched by 31 Chinese and African universities, industry associations, and institutions. These include the CEAIE, the Association of Technical Universities and Polytechnics in Africa, the Institute of African Studies at Zhejiang Normal University, Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College, Chengdu Aeronautic Polytechnic, Ain Shams University in Egypt, the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, AVIC-Intl Project Engineering Company, and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. The consortium encompasses 14 vocational colleges from seven provinces and cities across China. The consortium aims to build a practical cooperation platform for China-Africa vocational education, deepen vocational exchanges and cooperation between China and African countries, jointly cultivate application-oriented professionals, and promote sustainable regional economic and social development.
