The 2023 Academic Annual Meeting of the Vocational Education Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Taoxingzhi Studies & Seminar on Construction and Reform of Modern Vocational Education System Successfully Held

NJCIT is the chairman unit of the Vocational Education Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Taoxingzhi Studies. The 2023 Academic Annual Meeting of the Vocational Education Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Taoxingzhi Studies & Seminar on Construction and Reform of Modern Vocational Education System was successfully held in Dujiangyan, Sichuan Province from January 5 to 7, 2024.

With the theme of Construction and Reform of Modern Vocational Education System, this academic annual meeting was sponsored by the Vocational Education Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Taoxingzhi Studies, organized by Sichuan Technology & Business College, and co-organized by Beijing Yazhuo Education Technology Co., Ltd. More than 200 people from more than 160 secondary and higher vocational colleges and enterprises across the country attended the meeting. Wang Danzhong, Executive Director of the Chinese Society for Taoxingzhi Studies, Chairman of the Vocational Education Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Taoxingzhi Studies and Secretary of the CPC Committee of Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology, delivered the 2023 Annual Report of the Vocational Education Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Taoxingzhi Studies. Tong Zhaoling, Vice President of the Chinese Society for Taoxingzhi Studies, and Shi Jing, Member of the Education Working Committee of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Deputy Director-General of the Education Department of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The meeting was presided over by Professor Deng Chunsheng, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Commitee and President of Sichuan Technology & Business College, and Professor Li Chao, Vice Chairman of the Vocational Education Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Taoxingzhi Studies.

Tong Zhaoling, Vice President of the Chinese Society for Taoxingzhi Studies, stressed in her opening speech that Mr. Tao Xingzhi's thought on vocational education is of indispensable value for promoting the reform and development of China's vocational education. This conference aims to thoroughly study and implement the Party and state's policies on vocational education, explore new ideas and initiatives for vocational education reform and development, strengthen the integration of industry and education, promote school-enterprise collaboration, innovate talent training models, and enhance the quality of education, making vocational education a strong support for national development.

Ms. Shi Jing, member of the Education Working Committee of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Deputy Director of the Education Department of Sichuan Province, delivered a speech titled Pay Homage to Dujiangyan, Seek the Wisdom of Qingcheng Mountain at the conference. She hoped that experts and scholars could exchange ideas with each other, learn from each other's strengths, and achieve more remarkable results. She also advocated establishing close connections between the attending vocational schools and experts, and translating experts' wisdom into practical actions, ensuring that vocational education provides solid support for national strategies, regional economic and social development, and students' comprehensive and healthy growth.

Comrade Wang Danzhong, Executive Director of the Chinese Society for Taoxingzhi Studies, Chairman of the Vocational Education Specialized Committee of the Chinese Society for Taoxingzhi Studies, and Secretary of the CPC Committee of NJCIT, delivered the annual academic report for 2023 at the conference. He reviewed the work of the Vocational Education Specialized Committee in 2023, elaborating on the basic practices and achievements in popularizing skills competitions, stimulating heated academic discussions, and making theoretical research more attractive. He also carefully outlined the work plan for 2024. Chairman Wang Danzhong further emphasized that 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, a crucial year for achieving the goals of the 14th Five-Year Plan, and the beginning of the second phase of the Double High-Level Plan construction. The Vocational Education Specialized Committee will continue to take guidance from Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Under the strong leadership of the Chinese Society for Taoxingzhi Studies, it will carry forward Tao Xingzhi's educational thoughts, make efforts to fulfill the functions of social organizations, unite colleges, enterprises, experts, scholars, and individuals dedicated to the development of vocational education, and actively participate in the great practice of the construction and reform of modern vocational education system. The committee will focus on promoting integration between vocational and general education, industry and education, and science and education. It will prioritize improving talent training quality and enhancing the teaching, scientific research, and vocational abilities of vocational college teachers. The committee aims to enrich the content, enhance the quality, build cohesion, and expand influence, striving to play a greater role in promoting the reform and high-quality development of the modern vocational education system.

Tao Kan, the great-grandson of Tao Xingzhi and Deputy Curator of Shanghai Memorial of Tao Xingzhi, delivered a keynote speech titled Approach Tao Xingzhi and Learn to Be a True Educator. Xing Hui, Director of the Academic Committee of the National Academy of Education Administration and Director of the Vocational Education Research Center, interpreted the New Laws, New Policies, and New Strategies in Vocational Education in the Context of Build a Leading Country in Education. Sun Cheng, a researcher at the Research Center for Higher Education at the China National Academy of Educational Sciences, presented an academic report on How to Implement New Tasks for Deepening the Reform and Construction of the Modern Vocational Education System with practical cases from various regions.

In the Higher Vocational Education Forum and Secondary Vocational Education Forum, Vice Chairman Li Chao of the Vocational Education Specialized Committee of the Chinese Society for Taoxingzhi Studies, Secretary Zhang Zhidong of CPC Committee of Shandong Institute of Commerce and Technology, and Professor Lin Feng from Shenzhen Polytechnic University gave special lectures on Exploration of the Construction of High-level Higher Vocational Schools under the Reform of the Modern Vocational Education System. Du Yunying, Associate Researcher at the Institute of Vocational Education and Continuing Education, China National Academy of Educational Sciences, Jia Houlin, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Wuxi Electromechanical Vocational and Technical School, and Zhang Lihai, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Nanjing Commercial College (Nanjing Business School Branch of Jiangsu Union Technical Institute), gave special lectures on the Exploration of the Construction of Quality Schools and Quality Majors in Secondary Vocational Schools under the Reform of the Modern Vocational Education System.
