From November 24 to 25, 2023, the domestic final of the New Retail Big Data Analysis Competition of the 2023 Belt & Road and BRICS Skills Development & Technology Innovation Competition was successfully held at Huishang Vocational College. The competition is aimed at the transformation from digital empowerment to digital economy and the continuous penetration of digitization in three major industries, providing services for the future development of society. The New Retail Big Data Analysis Competition has been held for two consecutive years and is one of the most popular events in the BRICS Skills Competition.
In this competition, 124 teams from 78 undergraduate and higher vocational colleges in 17 provinces across the country competed on the same stage. Under the guidance of teacher Liu Xing, four students majoring in Business Data Analysis and Application from the School of Digital Commerce, Huang Ziqi, Meng Ziyu, Zhuang Mingzhu and Wu Haodong, formed two teams to participate in the competition. After two days of hard work and fierce competition, they finally won two first prizes in the competition.
Centering on the theme of new technologies and industries, this competition is an important platform for educational cooperation, skill development and cultural exchanges among colleges and universities. It not only improves the skills and qualities of contestants and their ability to solve practical problems with big data technology, but also provides a platform for colleges and universities across the country to communicate and learn about professional talent training. This competition served as a testament to the effectiveness of the School of Digital Commerce’s efforts in digital transformation, integrating industry and education, reforming education and teaching, and innovating talent cultivation models in recent years. It played a crucial role in promoting the three reforms of “Intelligence + Business”, promoting teaching and learning, driving reform, facilitating development through competition, and speeding up the integration of jobs, courses, certifications, and competition.
