President Tian Min Gets Invited to Participate in the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week and Delivers the Keynote Speech

On August 28, under the guidance of the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange of the Ministry of Education, P.R.China, and hosted by GuiZhou Light Industry Technical College and Changzhou College of Information Technology, with Beijing Huatec Information Technology Co.,Ltd. as the organizer and NJCIT as a co-organizer, the New Era, New Opportunities, New Missions—Vocational Education International Exchange Forum with the Background of High-quality Development was held in Guiyang, the permanent venue for China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week. Vice Director Xia Juan from the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange of the Ministry of Education, P.R.China, and Dr. Phouth Simmalavong, Minister of Education and Sports of Laos, attended the forum and delivered keynote speeches. President Tian Min of NJCIT was invited to give a presentation entitled Building and Sharing: Building a Talent Development Highland for Vocational Education in ASEAN

During the report, President Tian Min provided an overview of the school's development history and current status. He also discussed the school's exploration and achievements in training talent for the ASEAN region. President Tian focused on sharing four typical cases of collaboration between the school and Singapore, Laos, Indonesia, and Thailand. He presented the various training models the school has developed by aligning them with the characteristics and key emerging industries of ASEAN countries. These include talent development programs for innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as talent training for the China-Laos Railway project. Following NJCIT's presentation, guests from higher education institutions and educational organizations in countries like Thailand, Laos, and Malaysia expressed their interest in collaborating and exchanging ideas with NJCIT. At the event, we also established preliminary intentions for student exchanges and studies in China with the North Bangkok University in Thailand. 

It is reported that the theme for the 2023 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week is New Vision for Education Cooperation—Shared Prosperity of the Belt and Road. From August 28 to September 2 this year, a series of parallel forums and related activities were held, focusing on topics such as higher education, vocational education, basic education, preschool education, industry-academia-research collaboration, sustainable development cooperation, and youth exchange programs. 

Taking this opportunity, Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology will actively align with the planning of the ASEAN Community's education strategy. Building on the practical results of the model for cultivating high-quality talent in vocational education for the ASEAN region, the college will focus on areas such as international cooperation in digital education, international industry-academia-research collaboration, and fostering youth innovation and entrepreneurship. By continuously expanding educational cooperation and exchanges with ASEAN countries, the college aims to improve its mechanisms and provide more high-quality talent to support education and people-to-people exchanges between China and ASEAN.
