The 2023 "Chinese Bridge" Online Group Exchange Project of the Ministry of Education Opened at NJCIT

On the afternoon of March 2, the 2023 Chinese Bridge Online Group Exchange Project - Spring Camp, sponsored by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education, PRC and organized by NJCIT, was opened at NJCIT in the form of video connection. Degale Desta, Director of Network and Communication Technology Development Center, Wachemo University, Ethiopia; Dillebo Aberty, Vice President of Horsena Institute of Technology, Ethiopia; Du Qingbo, Vice Principal of NJCIT; representatives of the teachers assigned to undertake the project; and personnel of relevant departments of the three schools attended the opening ceremony. Other online attendees included nearly 100 students from Wachemo University and Horsena Institute of Technology, Ethiopia. The opening ceremony was presided over by Cao Xue, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department, NJCIT.

Director Degale Desta was the first speaker. He thanked NJCIT and the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education for building the Chinese Bridge learning and communication platform. He said that Wachemo University attached great importance to this project and hoped to take this opportunity to enhance the long-term friendship and promote the friendly exchanges and extensive cooperation between the two universities.

In the view of Vice Principal Du Qingbo, NJCIT is the only Double High vocational school in Jiangsu Province that has undertaken the Chinese Bridge project for two consecutive years. This indicates that the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education affirms the international education of the school, which is significant to the internationalization of NJCIT. He hoped that through this year's Chinese Bridge platform, more foreigners could find the unique charm of Chinese culture and the vigorous vitality of China's higher vocational education.

The Chinese Bridge project is a Chinese language and culture experience program initiated by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education. It aims to enhance the understanding of Chinese and foreign youth on the language and culture of both sides, strengthen language education exchanges between China and foreign countries, and do a good job in international Chinese education development and cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries by providing the Chinese language and culture courses and cultural experience activities. This year, Chinese Bridge continues the form of online group communication.

The 2023 Chinese Bridge Online Group Exchange Project - Spring Camp will last for 3 weeks, starting from early March. The main content is Chinese language teaching. Themed Feel the Charm of Chinese Language and Experience the Style of China's Vocational Education and characterized by Chinese + vocational skills, the activity will be carried out in the forms of online live Chinese classes, recorded theme classes, cloud-based culture and vocational education lectures, cloud-based travel experience and online communication. In this way, overseas students can observe the demeanor of Nanjing as a famous humanistic and benevolent city, better understand Chinese language and culture, learn about the current development situation and uniqueness of China's higher vocational education, and get all-round, three-dimensional pictures of China, Nanjing and vocational education, thus boosting people-to-people exchanges between China and foreign countries.
