Nanjing New E-commerce Industry College Settled in NJCIT

On the afternoon of November 16, under the guidance and promotion of the Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the Nanjing New E-commerce Industry College, spearheaded by Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology (NJCIT) and jointly built by the Nanjing Electronic Commerce Association and 20 leading e-commerce enterprises and related colleges and universities in Nanjing, was inaugurated at the 2022 China Jiangsu E-Commerce Conference and the 9th China Industry Digitalization Conference held at Nanjing Xinzhuang International Exhibition Center. 

A number of representatives from the co-building organization attended the inauguration ceremony, including Second-level Inspector Li Dajun of Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Commerce, President Tian Min and Vice President Xu Jianjun of NJCIT, President Fan Chunyan and Secretary-General Chen Wuguang of Nanjing Electronic Commerce Association, heads from more than 20 leading e-commerce enterprises in the province such as Jiangsu Holly Corporation, Focus Technology and Xicheng Group and leaders of relevant departments (schools) of six colleges and universities such as Nanjing University, Southeast University, Nanjing University of Finance and Economics and Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology. 

At the inauguration ceremony, Li Dajun pointed out that in recent years, Nanjing has firmly seized the opportunity of new e-commerce development, optimized support policies on the new e-commerce industry, and accelerated the expansion of new e-commerce market players. The city has always been at the forefront of the province in new cross-border e-commerce, live-streaming e-commerce, industrial e-commerce and other fields, and has become a hub of the new e-commerce industry in Jiangsu and even the whole country. At the same time, talent has become a key factor restricting the high-quality development of the industry. In particular, with the rapid development of the new e-commerce industry, various new technologies, new models and new applications are constantly emerging, creating a large number of new posts and jobs.

The establishment of the Nanjing New E-commerce Industry College will give full play to the advantages of local colleges and universities in intelligence, talent and scientific and technological innovation, realize the deep interaction and two-way empowerment between local higher education institutions and industries, thus providing sufficient targeted talent and technical services for the industry and boosting the high-quality development of the local new e-commerce industry. 

President Tian Min said in his speech that at present, the integration of new technologies and business is accelerating, and new industries, new formats and new models are constantly emerging. E-commerce is an important link vehicle for the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy. It profoundly impacts the smooth circulation of the industrial chain and the supply chain. Deeply integrated with the production and life of modern people, it has become an important engine for giving birth to new industries, new business forms and new models. It also plays an important role in promoting the construction of a new development pattern, realizing trade facilitation, creating high-quality life and motivating high-quality development. Driven by new technologies, the e-commerce industry itself is also emerging with new formats, new models and new applications. The new e-commerce industry is constantly upgrading and developing. Nanjing is a famous software city in China and a powerhouse for the development of new e-commerce industry. Industrial development requires talent. Higher education, especially higher vocational education, and industrial development are complementary and share a common destiny. Our college expects to develop a new model of industry-education cooperation and school-enterprise cooperation education of  government authorities + schools + industry associations + member enterprise groups by building the college into a platform. We endeavor to create a community with a shared future for industry-education and school-enterprise development. These initiatives will cultivate more targeted and high-quality technical and skilled talent for the high-quality development of the regional e-commerce industry and the digital transformation of the industry, as well as promote the construction of Nanjing as an international consumption center city and a center of digital commerce industry. 

At the inauguration ceremony, Chen Wuguang, Secretary-General of  Nanjing Electronic Commerce Association and Dean of the Nanjing New E-commerce Industry Collegey released the Eight Action Plans of Nanjing New E-commerce Industry College for Empowering Industries, including the joint construction plan of training bases, the industrial talent empowerment plan, the industrial development think tank construction plan, the innovation and entrepreneurship promotion plan, the industrial new technology empowerment plan, the new e-commerce promotion plan, the new e-commerce public learning resource construction plan, and the employment promotion plan. 

Nanjing New E-commerce Industry College implements the dean responsibility system under the leadership of the Council. The dean is the head of Nanjing Electronic Commerce Association, and the executive dean is the representative of the NJCIT. Before the inauguration ceremony, the first plenary meeting of the College Council was held. At the meeting, the Articles of Association of the Council were reviewed and approved, and the members of the Council are elected. Li Dajun was elected as the Honorary Chairman; Xu Jianjun, Vice President of NJCIT, was elected as the Chairman, and Fan Chunyan, Vice President of Sung.com Group Co., Ltd., was elected as the Executive Vice Chairman. Jiangsu Holly Corporation, Focus Technology Co., Ltd., Xicheng Group, etc. are the Vice Chairman Units. Sixteen enterprises, including Yurun Internet Industry Group Co., Ltd., Nanjing Hesiman Network Technology Co., Ltd., Nanjing Electric Ray Network Technology Co., Ltd., and Nanjing Zhuri Qianli Technology Co., Ltd., were elected as the director units. Five experts from Nanjing University, Southeast University, Nanjing University of Finance and Economics, Nanjing Audit University Jinshen College, and Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology were elected as individual directors and employed as experts of Nanjing New E-commerce Industry Think Tank. After being nominated by the Honorary Chairman and the Chairman, Chen Wuguang, Secretary-General of Nanjing Electronic Commerce Association, was elected as the first President, and Liu Dongfeng, dean of NJCIT School of Digital Commerce, was elected as the Executive President of the School of Industry. 

It is reported that at the 2022 China Jiangsu E-Commerce Conference and the 9th China Industry Digitalization Conference, NJCIT also set up a special exhibition hall to showcase the results of NJCIT's e-commerce talent training to all sectors of society. During the meeting, President Tian Min and Vice President Xu Jianjun visited the exhibition hall and greeted the teachers and students.
