NJCIT Hosts Conference on Promotion and Implementation of Norms of Digital Campus of Vocational Colleges and Summary Meeting of Digital Campus Construction Pilot School Project for Vocational Colleges

The Conference on the Promotion and Implementation of the Norms of Digital Campus of Vocational Colleges and the Summary Meeting of the Digital Campus Construction Experimental School Project sponsored by the National Center for Educational Technology and organized by Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology (NJCIT) was held in Nanjing on April 8, 2021. The purpose of the event is to promote the implementation of the Norms of Digital Campus of Vocational Colleges, enhance the construction and application of informatization in vocational schools and colleges, summarize the achievements and experiences in the construction and application of informatization in vocational schools, and give play to the role of pilot schools in the construction and application of informatization in vocational education. Relevant personnel of the Department of Vocational and Adult Education of the Ministry of Education and the National Center for Educational Technology attended the meeting. Attendees also included over 400 representatives from more than 260 vocational colleges, higher education divisions, vocational and adult education departments of other provinces (autonomous regions and direct-administrated municipalities) and provincial centers for educational technology.

Wang Danzhong, Secretary of the CPC Committee of NJCIT, the organizer of the conference, delivered a speech. On behalf of the college, he sincerely welcomed all the leaders and experts and expressed his heartfelt thanks to those who cared about and supported the development of the College. He also made a brief introduction to the school's running and the construction and application of information technology.

Sun Hui from the Department of Vocational and Adult Education of the Ministry of Education delivered a speech. He pointed out that in the new era full of challenges and opportunities, the construction of the digital campus plays an important part in promoting education reform, improving teaching quality, and achieving industry-education integration and scientific education. The goal of this conference is to summarize the existing experience of digital campus construction in vocational colleges and schools and conduct in-depth discussions. It aims to further promote the implementation of the Norms of Digital Campus of Vocational Colleges and explore effective measures to improve education quality through digital construction in vocational schools.

Prof. Han Xibin from Tsinghua University and Prof. Ge Liansheng from Shandong University made keynote reports entitled Thinking and Foresight of Education and Teaching Reform in Vocational Schools in the New Development Stage and Digital Campus Leads to Drive High-Quality Development of Vocational Schools respectively. They interpreted the Norms of Digital Campus of Vocational Colleges and emphasized that digital technology, as an important means to promote the development of vocational schools, is of great significance in improving the quality of education and the cooperation among industries, colleges and research institutes.

During the experience exchange in the afternoon of the meeting, NJCIT, Laiwu Vocational and Technical College, Guangdong Polyteching of Industry and Commerce and Hubei Center for Educational Technology, as typical cases in digital campus construction projects, exchanged their successful practices and experiences in digital construction, application and management. H3C representative delivered a speech on A Cloud for Practical Training of Courses Supported by Information Technology — Purple Chip Cloud College's Cloud Solution for Practical Training.

At the end of the meeting, Han Jun, Deputy Director of the National Center for Educational Technology, made a speech themed on Experimental School Project Drives Digital Campus Construction for Vocational Colleges to summarize the national Digital Campus Construction Pilot School Project. Director Zhao Lin explained the relevant work of the experimental school. Through the implementation of the project, a number of leading institutions with innovative applications and remarkable results have emerged with fruitful results. Local centers for educational technology have played a crucial role in the implementation process of the project.

At the meeting, NJCIT also set up an exhibition area for Smart NJCIT construction to show the College's information construction.

The conference successfully completed the agenda, enhanced the understanding and communication among vocational schools and played a role in summarizing the experience and application results of digital campus construction in vocational schools and colleges in China. This meeting was of great significance in further implementing the Norms of Digital Campus of Vocational Colleges, promoting the construction and application of digitalization and informatization in vocational schools, and driving the gradual smart development of vocational schools and colleges.
