The development of the digital economy requires the training of new-type talent. Higher vocational education needs to figure out how to cultivate high-quality, innovative technic and skilled professionals, who meet the demand of digital economic development, since this is the new challenge it must address and the new responsibility it must shoulder. To further explore the development of industry-education integration in the context of the digital economy, the Forum & Working Seminar of Industry-Education Integration Against Backdrop of Digital Economy was held in Huai'an on June 25. The forum was sponsored by Jiangsu Electronic Information Vocational Education Teaching Steering Committee and Industry-Education Integration and School-Enterprise Cooperation Special Committee of Jiangsu Province China Vocational Education Association, and undertaken by Jiangsu Vocational College of Electronics and Information, Jiangsu Information Vocational Education Group, and Industrial Internet and Smart Manufacturing Industry-Education Alliance.

In his speech, Wang Xianghong said that the forum welcomed people from governments, schools, industries, and enterprises for the integration between industry and education. Based on cutting-edge technologies such as big data, cloud services, artificial intelligence (AI), and blockchain, it created a platform for digital economy-related industry cooperation and communication and industry-education integration, was a vital measure to serve the implementation of the Digital China strategy, and was of great significance to promote the construction of digital economy major and talent training and serve the development of the digital economy in Jiangsu Province. He sincerely hoped that people present can join hands and take the success of the forum as an opportunity to practically carry out research on state-of-the-art digital technologies, widely promote digital technology services, co-create a digital era and share digital achievements, and provide greater intellectual contributions and stronger talent support for the high-quality economic development of Jiangsu Province.
Tian Min, on behalf of the Jiangsu Electronic Information Vocational Education Teaching Steering Committee, delivered the 2021 Work Report of the Jiangsu Electronic Information Vocational Education Teaching Steering Committee. He pointed out that over the past year since its establishment, the Committee followed the guidance of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, relied on the Industry and Information Technology Department of Jiangsu, and fulfilled its responsibilities and requirements identified by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. Specifically, it further improved its organizational structure and institutional construction and carried out an array of industry-education integration dialogues. Besides, the Committee also participated in the college entrance examination of vocational education, pilot of the academic proficiency test for secondary vocational school students, electronic information-related 1+X certificate pilot, review of the regulations of Jiangsu Vocational Students Skills Competitionand electronic information major setting, and other work. It effectively promoted the guidance of the industry on vocational education in the field of electronic information and stimulated enterprise engagement, school running by vocational education groups, and other related work.
On behalf of Jiangsu Province China Vocational Education Association, Ni Nan extended warm congratulations on the successful convening of the forum and the working seminar of the Jiangsu Electronic Information Vocational Education Teaching Steering Committee, the Industry-Education Integration Special Committee of Jiangsu Province ChinaVocational Education Association, and the Jiangsu Information Vocational Education Group. He stressed that on April 20, 2022, the National People's Congress voted to adopt the newly revised Vocational Education Law of the People's Republic of China, which included vocational education adhering to industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation into the General Provisions. The revision further highlighted the all-round, in-depth, and wide-range industry-education partnership. Through the industry-education integration forum, the meeting gathered high-quality resources of the industry and enterprises, gave full play to industry advantages, shared cases and practices of industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation, promoted the quality improvement of vocational education, and effectively upgraded the quality of vocational education talent training. It was a specific measure to publicize and implement the new Vocational Education Law.
In his speech, Zhang Youdong briefly introduced the basic information, characteristics, and achievements of Jiangsu Vocational College of Electronics and Information. He noted that a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation is accelerating, and the new economy characterized by new technologies, new industries, new business forms, and new models is booming. Representatives of relevant colleges and enterprises made corresponding special reports at the forum. Xu Jianjun, Vice President of NJCIT, delivered a report, entitled Promoting High-quality Development and Creating Major Clusters under High-Level Vocational Colleges & Specialties with Chinese Characteristics Construction Plan. Wu Maqun, Deputy Director of the Industry-Education Integration Special Committee of China Software Industry Association and former President of Beijing Information Technology College, delivered a keynote video report, entitled Supplementary of Major Catalogue in 2022 and Discussion on Types of Vocational Education. Xi Haitao, Secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Vocational College of Information Technology Committee, delivered a report, entitled Serving the Regional Integrated Circuit Industry and Running Vocational Education with People's Satisfaction Relying on Advantageous Resources from Jiangsu Electronic Information Vocational Education Teaching Steering Committee. Lou Hua, Dean of the School of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data of Changzhou College of Information Technology, delivered a report, entitled Status Quo of Building of MajorClusters under High-Level Vocational Colleges & Specialties with Chinese Characteristics Construction Plan. Professor Li Chaolin at Jiangsu Vocational College of Electronics and Information delivered a report, entitled Building a Resource Library of Electronic Manufacturing to Empower High-quality Development of Majors. Yang Wenbin, General Manager of the Vocational Education Industry of Huawei, delivered a report, entitled Construction of Huawei Information Technology Modern Industry College.
