Good News: The School of Artificial Intelligence Wins the First Prize in the "Mobile Application Development" Competition for Vocational Colleges in the National Competition for Skills of Vocational Education in 2022

The Mobile Application Development Competition (for Vocational Colleges) in the National Competition for Skills of Vocational Education 2022 was held on August 3-6 at Heilongjiang Vocational College of Agricultural Technology. A total of 59 teams from all over China competed. Zhu Chen from the School of Artificial Intelligence of NJCIT signed up for the competition as a member of the Jiangsu Provincial Team and won the first prize. Teacher Li Fangfang won the Excellent Instructor Award.

The competition is based on the real projects of the enterprises and professional teaching standards, refers to the technical requirements for mobile application development at the World Skills Competition, takes into consideration the requirements of the enterprise for skills, and requires contestants to complete the specified task for mobile application development. The competition lasted three days and was divided into four modules: A, B, C, and D - demand analysis, preliminary design, functional module development and test and delivery, which should be completed by the contestants. It aimed to assess the comprehensive analysis ability, architecture design ability, coding ability, document writing ability, data analysis ability, creative innovation ability, product testing and delivery ability of the contestants in the real mobile application development project. It also hoped to cultivate the professional qualities of the contestants such as communication ability, pressure resistance ability, and their consciousness of 6S, stimulate their curiosity and spirit of dedication, and encourage young students to explore technology, sharpen skills, and take the road towards talents.

During the preparation, the team of the School of Artificial Intelligence formulated a detailed plan and organized students for training. The teachers not only instructed the students professionally, but also cared for them in life and mentally. Zhu Chen overcame the huge challenges and mental pressure brought by the national competition, studied and explored day and night, and finally won the honor for Jiangsu Province and NJCIT.

That the contestants from NJCIT won the first prize fully demonstrated the educational and teaching achievements of NJCIT. For a long time, NJCIT has attached importance to the competition for promoting education and teaching reforms and improving the quality of talents, given full play to the leading and demonstrating role of the competition, promoted learning, teaching, and construction through competitions, and worked hard to cultivate students' innovative ability and craftsman spirit. With continuous deepening of teaching reform, integration of production and education, and rural revitalization, it aims to build a high-quality modern vocational education system.
