The finals of the Internet of Things Technology Application Competition of National Competition for Skills of Vocational Education 2022 (for vocational colleges) were held at Shandong Vocational College of Information Technology on August 23-26, and attended by 58 teams and 116 contestants from all over China. Zhang Kefeng and Yuan Shuiqiang at the School of Network and Communication of NJCIT signed up for the competition as members of the Jiangsu Provincial Team, and won the first place in the first prize. Instructors Gu Zhenfei and Zhang Bo won the Excellent Instructor Award.
The competition lasted two days, and covered the three modules of IoT fault repair, operation and maintenance, solution design and upgrade, and application and development. It reproduced the working scene of the IoT project and demonstrated the complete task for IoT technology application; the competition focused on the comprehensive skills of the contestants in the application of the Internet of Things technology, and their teamwork spirit and ability to deal with emergencies. It aimed to promote education through competition, inspire the ingenuity and patriotism from students, strengthen their craftsman spirit for greater perfection and innovation, and encourage young students to explore and learn skills in earnest and serve the country with skills.
With guidance from leaders at all levels of NJCIT and various schools and support and help from teachers, the Internet of Things technology application team from the School of Network and Communication formulated a detailed and thorough plan, overcame the impact due to pandemic prevention and control, and organized students for systematic training. Two students worked hard for a whole year and finally won honors for Jiangsu Province and NJCIT in the two-day competition with endeavors and calmness!
