Characteristics and Advantages

The Cloud Computing Technology and Application major, with a Jiangsu Provincial Excellent Teaching Team, is the Jiangsu Provincial high-level construction major, and the leader of the cooperative group for the pilot project of “Cloud Computing Platform Operation, Maintenance and Development” and “Cloud Computing Development, Operation and Maintenance” “1+X” Certificates (a diploma certificate + several vocational skill level certificates) System in Jiangsu vocational colleges.

In recent years, the students of this major have achieved great success in competitions of various disciplines. Specifically, they have won one star prize and five first prizes in the “China Software Cup” College Student Software Design Competition, two first prizes in the “Challenge Cup” Jiangsu Province Vocational Colleges Innovation, Efficiency and Entrepreneurship Competition, and more than 100 students have won awards including the first prize in the “Lan Qiao Cup” National Software and Information Technology Professional Talent Contest National Finals. In particular, in 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018 and 2019, students of the major won five national first prizes in the “Cloud Computing Technology and Application” competition. The unparalleled achievement suggests that the specialty, with its comprehensive strength, ranks among the best in the vocational colleges in China.

In-depth Cooperative Enterprise

The specialty of Cloud Computing Technology and Application has close cooperation with many well-known enterprises in the industry. The talent training base “NJCIT Alibaba Cloud Big Data College”, which was jointly built by Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology and Alibaba Cloud Computing Co., Ltd., covers an area of more than 1,000 square meters and has more than 300 computers, making the college one of the first batch of higher vocational colleges in China to cooperate with Alibaba Cloud to build and operate a big data college. NJCIT·Alibaba Cloud Big Data College has a large number of curriculum resources related to cloud computing, including more than 20 training courses, more than 210 online simulation experiments, more than 2,100 video resources, more than 160 document resources, more than 3,300 exercises and 2 textbooks, which provide strong support for the cultivation of students and social training in cloud computing. Since 2018, the Big Data College has provided Alibaba Cloud ACP training, technician training for government units and micro-service skills training for enterprises, with more than 1,000 trainees.
