From October 25 to 26, the Jiangsu Craftsman Job Training Vocational Skills Competition—UAV Driving Contest of 2024 Jiangsu Surveying and Mapping Industry UAV Vocational Skills Competition was held at NJCIT. The competition was guided by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Human Resources and Social Security and the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Natural Resources and sponsored by the Jiangsu Society for Geodesy Photogrammetry and Cartography, the Vocational Education Professional Committee of the Chinese Society for Taoxingzhi Studies, and the Jiangsu Aviation Sports Association. A total of 70 contestants from 29 organizations in Jiangsu's UAV-related industries and related universities participated in the competition.
The competition was included in the 2024 Jiangsu Craftsman Job Training Vocational Skills Competition Catalogue. It consists of two parts: theoretical knowledge assessment and skill practical operation assessment, which comprehensively examines the contestants' vocational skills such as UAV debugging and aerial photography. The contestants fully demonstrated their fighting spirit and competed fiercely. In the end, two first prizes, four second prizes and six third prizes were awarded in the staff group competition. Four first prizes, eight second prizes and 12 third prizes were awarded in the student group competition. NJCIT's students secured the first place in the first prize and won two second prizes in the student group competition. NJCIT's teachers won two second prizes in the staff group competition.
