Three teachers from the School of Intelligent Transportation, Xiong Jiangyong, Li Chongchong and Qiu Yayu, participated in the final of the transportation category of the 2021 Jiangsu Vocational Institution Teaching Competition (Higher Vocational College Group) on behalf of our college, taking the first place in the first prize.

It is reported that a total of 777 teams participated in the competition, including 42 teams in the transportation category. After the online preliminary competition, 25 teams stood out and competed for the first, second and third prizes in the final. To make the participating teachers fully prepared for the competition, the School of Intelligent Transportation provided them with various support, such as coordinating their teaching tasks, providing shooting venues and equipment, arranging for volunteering students, and inviting experts of the college for guidance. The participating teachers repeatedly polish the teaching content and PPT presentation during their rest time to highlight the professional background, course characteristics and main and difficult points in teaching. Considering real cars are usually used in teaching automotive-related courses, the participating team recorded several demonstration videos of real cars, which are intuitive and easy to understand, and match well with the teaching content. With calm and confident performance, our teachers demonstrated the achievements made by our college in professional reform and presented a good image of our teachers during the competition, achieving a historic breakthrough in the transportation major of our college.

After the competition, the School of Intelligent Transportation appealed to the participating teachers to share their experience and promote it, so as to give full play to the role of the competition in improving education quality. The sharing activity will also improve the overall teaching abilities of our teachers while optimizing our course design, teaching materials and practical training and promoting advanced teaching concepts and practices to other majors, so as to achieve the goal of promoting teaching through competition, and exerting the catalytic role through demonstration.
