Recently, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education announced the evaluation results of the First Batch of Brand Major Building Projects for international Talent Training in Jiangsu Province during the 14th Five-Year Plan Period, including the modern communication technology major of our college.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan Period, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education launches quality improvement projects for provincial colleges and universities. It encourages colleges and universities in the province to jointly develop key and special projects with international institutions in carrying out Chinese-foreign education cooperation, jointly designing curricula, cultivating international teaching staff, conducting international academic exchanges, and cultivating international talent based on their competitive disciplines. The program comes into two batches to select and build 100 provincial brand majors for international talent training in colleges and universities, with 50 in 2021 and 50 in 2022. The project will last for 4 years. More than 200 majors from over 140 colleges and universities in the province compete for the 50 majors in the first batch. After the expert review, defense and publicity of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, the list of 50 majors is determined, with 35 from undergraduate colleges and universities and 15 from higher vocational colleges and universities.
NJCIT attaches great importance to this application, and organized relevant divisions and departments to prepare application materials. Thanks to the efforts made by all staff in polishing materials and organizing defense, NJCIT's modern communication technology major was finally shortlisted. The approval of this major is not only a recognition of the provincial education department for our existing achievements in international school running, but also a strong impetus for our college to deepen international cooperation, improving the international level of our teaching team, jointly designing curriculum with foreign institutions, and strengthening online and offline international academic cooperation and exchange during the 14th Five-Year Plan Period.
