On November 25, the 2021 Online and Offline Teaching Seminar for Higher Vocational Colleges in Jiangsu Province was jointly held by the Jiangsu Provincial Curriculum Center and Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology (NJCIT) in Nanjing Huashan Hotel. Cheng Naisheng, Deputy Director of Jiangsu Provincial Curriculum Center and Du Qingbo, Vice President of NJCIT, attended the seminar. The Jiangsu Provincial Curriculum Center announced at the seminar that it will work together with NJCIT to build the online and offline open curriculum teaching and teacher training base for universities and colleges in Jiangsu Province. The seminar was presided over by Yang Qianhua, Director of the Office of Academic Affairs of our college, and five experts specializing in online and offline hybrid teaching from inside and outside the province and more than 190 representatives from various higher vocational colleges and universities in the province exchanged ideas at the seminar.
At the meeting, Cheng Naisheng, Deputy Director of Jiangsu Provincial Curriculum Center, delivered a speech. He affirmed the achievements made by our college in online and offline hybrid teaching in recent years, and hoped that our college could engage more vocational colleges in the province to jointly take part in research and practice while promoting the establishment of the online and offline open curriculum teaching and teacher training base and other work. Next, Du Qingbo, Vice President of NJCIT, delivered a speech at the seminar. He said that by relying on the establishment of the training base, the college will vigorously promote the reform of hybrid teaching, carry out extensive exchanges, and yield more achievements in online and offline hybrid teaching. Later, the two sides jointly announced the inauguration of the newly-established online and offline open curriculum teaching and teacher training base for colleges and universities in Jiangsu Province.
Professor Yu Jianbo from Shanghai Jiao Tong University gave a lecture themed Application and Declaration of Online Course Building of Vocational Education, which presented the application requirements and skills for building online courses to the representatives of various universities and colleges, and allowed everyone to access the hybrid teaching. President Jiang Minmin shared his practice of building an interactive classroom ecosystem step by step with the goal of cultivating students' abilities, which showed the participants the careful arrangement that breaks traditional classroom teaching and delivers more surprises to teachers and students. Professor Zhao Yan from the Jiangsu Vocational College of Information Technology, taking his own national high-quality online open course Programming Basis as an example, analyzed the hybrid teaching reform in detail, and pointed out that all we do is to serve teaching and learning and to achieve a better teaching effect. Professor Kan Baoming from the Suzhou Industrial Park Institute of Services Outsourcing shared his practice of hybrid teaching based on the resource library in a humorous and profound language, becoming the focus of the seminar.
The seminar achieved a full success, and all the participants were ignited and impressed by the heartfelt and innovative practices of the experts, and they agreed to access the first online course of the training base themed Teaching You How to Conduct Hybrid Teaching launched on the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) of Chinese universities and colleges (https://www.icourse163.org/course/NJCIT-1465446165), for further study and discussion.
