Good News: School of Network and Communication, NJCIT Wins the Silver Award in the Communication IT Network Administration Contest of First World Vocational College Skills Competition

On the morning of August 20, the closing ceremony of the World Vocational College Skills Competition was held in Tianjin City. The competition could be divided into two types of events, including 15 contests and 8 exhibitions with each event presenting one gold medal, one silver medal and one bronze medal. The School of Network and Communication of NJCIT participated in the Communication IT Network Administration Contest in the form of 0.5+0.5 mixed team of Chinese and foreign students. Under the guidance of Gu Yanhua and Chen Xuejiao, Chen Fan and Zhang Haofei teamed up with international students from Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, namely Otabil Mensah Karikari (Ghana) and Noel Koloviko (Malawi), and competed with 11 mixed teams from different countries and regions. After fierce competition, they won the silver award via valiant struggle and acquired a reward of RMB 300,000. 


Themed Skilled Youth, Shining Future, the competition took new-generation information technology and industry application as the core and 5G communication network detection and intelligent connected vehicle application as the feature. All competition projects were based on actual application scenarios and competitors needed to creatively solve practical problems in actual scenarios. The competition covers communication networks, artificial intelligence and many other fields and involves comprehensive and difficult tasks. Under the guidance of teachers, NJCIT's team underwent 4 months of closed training, overcame language and pandemic barriers and grasped 5G base station communication network configuration, detection and execution and 5G intelligent connected vehicle application debugging skills. The team members worked together and handled changes flexibly during the competition, showing a high level of communication IT network administration skills and innovative thinking in solving practical problems.
