NJCIT held a two-day online training session for 29 teachers at Wachemo University in Ethiopia on July 27-28. The session covered introduction to network security, the use of NMAP and security vulnerability detection tools, and practical training. Mei Xiaolan, a teacher at the School of Artificial Intelligence, served as the lecturer.
This overseas training project was carried out in the form of live broadcast and with a combination of online illustration and practical guidance. The trainees not only mastered solid theoretical knowledge, but also learned about the technical and practical courses. Mei Xiaolan used various quizzes and mini-applications to animate the class, for which teachers and students from different countries felt as if they were in the same classroom. All the teachers at Wachemo University who participated in the training acknowledged the lecturer from Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology for the great sense of responsibility and wonderful illustration.
It is reported that Wachemo University has kept close contact with NJCIT in hopes of carrying out further cooperation and exchanges since four of its faculty members including its vice president Binyam Girma Sediso visited NJCIT in May 2019. NJCIT makes every effort to help sister colleges in Africa to cultivate high-quality teachers against the impact of the pandemic, in order to make the vocational education in China “go global”, promote the virtuous and sustainable school-running overseas, further enhance the internationalization level and international influence of NJCIT, and contribute to the cultural exchanges between China and the outside world.
