From May 13 to 15, 2026, the 12th Forum on Information-based Teaching Reform and Innovation Development in Vocational Schools was held at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center. With the theme Building the Foundation of Vocational Education with Data, Embarking on a New Journey of Education with Intelligence, this forum was led and hosted by the Information-based Teaching Steering Committee for Vocational Schools of the Ministry of Education. It brought together representatives from nearly 500 vocational schools and leaders and experts from 64 digital and intelligent technology enterprises across the country to conduct in-depth discussions on topics such as the vocational education digital transformation path, the enhancement of digital and intelligent leadership in vocational schools, the construction of smart campuses and digital governance, and smart teaching and teachers' AI literacy.
The main session of the forum featured keynote reports from several authoritative experts, and Zhang Peng, Director of the Public Platform Division of the Education Management Information Center of the Ministry of Education, released the evaluation results of the smart campus maturity of vocational schools nationwide. NJCIT was successfully included in the list of institutions that have been rated A-level for four consecutive times nationwide (a total of 31 institutions in the country), demonstrating NJCIT's outstanding strength in the field of smart campus construction.
NJCIT's Vice President, Du Qingbo, was invited to chair the first sub-forum, Digital and Intelligent Leadership in Vocational Schools, where he exchanged ideas with experts and scholars on topics such as digital and intelligent governance, digital transformation paths, and leadership development. At the closing ceremony of the forum, Vice President Du Qingbo delivered a speech as the representative of the host of the 13th forum and officially released the innovative achievement, the AI General Education Teaching Robot for Vocational Education. This achievement was developed by the course team for Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology over a year, pooling collective wisdom and completing the entire process from conceptualization to prototype iteration and implementation. This achievement is not only a cutting-edge exploration of agent technology but is also dedicated to building a new navigational, proactive, and holistic teaching ecosystem in the AI era, exploring a new model of teaching artificial intelligence with artificial intelligence.
During the forum, Hong Haibing, a teacher from NJCIT's Digital Construction Center, accepted two honors on behalf of NJCIT: the 2026 Typical Benchmark Case of Smart Campus in Vocational Schools and the Excellent Case of Artificial Intelligence Application Scenarios.
