From April 17 to 20, 2026, the Artificial Intelligence Application competition of the higher vocational group in the 2026 Jiangsu Vocational College Skills Competition successfully concluded at Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology. This competition brought together 56 higher vocational student teams from across the province to compete on the same stage and hone their skills. Under the guidance of teachers Rui Jianwen and Pu Xiaoqian from the School of Artificial Intelligence, students Li Xinzhuo, Kang Zhouyang, Hu Longfeng, and Lu Guanming from NJCIT's School of Artificial Intelligence stood out and won first prize (Student Group) by virtue of their solid professional competence, proficient hands-on skills, and efficient teamwork, fully demonstrating our students' professional demeanor and the effectiveness of our talent cultivation.
The Artificial Intelligence Application competition closely aligns with the development needs of the new-generation artificial intelligence industry and is oriented toward real production, management, and service scenarios. It focuses on core competencies such as data processing, algorithm application, deep learning model building, and intelligent system development, and comprehensively assesses contestants' technical level and practical ability in data preparation, machine learning, deep learning, self-selected intelligent applications, and comprehensive analysis. The competition adopted a dual-module format of skills operation + presentation and explanation, which not only emphasized engineering implementation ability, but also focused on project presentation and the demonstration of application value, thus placing higher demands on the contestants' overall competence.
During the preparation process, the School attached great importance to the work, formed a special training team, and carried out systematic training around the core technical modules of the competition. Teachers and students worked together to tackle key problems, repeatedly refining the key links such as data processing workflows, model training optimization, and system integration, and continuously improving the technical solutions and project presentations. During the competition, the team members remained calm, had a clear division of labor, and operated in a standardized manner. They completed all tasks with high quality within the specified time, fully demonstrating their solid professional foundation and good professional literacy.
This award is not only a concentrated test of the teaching achievements of our Artificial Intelligence major, but also an important embodiment of the School's efforts to deepen the integrated post, course, competition, and certificate talent cultivation model and to promote industry-education integration and collaborative education. Over the long term, the School of Artificial Intelligence has closely followed the development trends of the artificial intelligence industry, continuously optimized the talent training system, deeply integrated cutting-edge industry technologies and real project practice into the teaching process, focused on cultivating students' engineering practice ability and innovative application ability, and continuously improved the quality of talent cultivation.
In the future, the School will take this competition as an opportunity to further deepen education and teaching reform, strengthen training in key technologies in the field of artificial intelligence and the cultivation of comprehensive application capabilities, promote the high-quality development of its programs, and continuously provide high-quality technical and skilled talents for the development of the new-generation information technology industry.
