Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology Grandly Holds the 2025 Annual Summary and Commendation and Retirement-Orientation Convention

On the afternoon of January 22, the school grandly held the 2025 Annual Summary and Commendation and Retirement-Orientation Convention. Kong Jie, Party secretary of the School; Tian Min, president; Qian Qunlei, deputy Party secretary; Du Qingbo, Li Yan, and Sun Gang, Party committee members and vice presidents; Lin Hong, Party committee member and secretary of the General Party Branch of the Organs; Wu Xiaohuan, Party committee member and director of the Publicity Department of the Party Committee; and Gu Xinchun, Party committee member and director of the Organization Department and United Front Work Department, attended the convention. Representatives of retired faculty, all newly recruited teachers, faculty representatives, and student representatives attended the meeting together. The convention opened with the warm-up short film “Our 2025”, which vividly reproduced the brilliant moments of all people at Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology (NJCIT) striving forward in 2025, immersing the attendees in shared annual memories and a spirit of struggle.

Chapter One: Resounding National Anthem · Firm Original Aspiration

All attendees stood to sing the National Anthem. Amidst the resounding music, all NJCIT people revisited their original aspiration for education and gathered a powerful force to strive for the cause of vocational education.

Chapter Two: Looking Back to Go Further · Steady Footsteps

President Tian Min delivered a speech. On behalf of the school administration, he expressed respect and gratitude to all faculty and staff, congratulated the commended collectives and individuals, sent blessings to the retired veteran teachers, and welcomed the new teachers. He pointed out that in 2025, the school achieved fruitful results in the six major areas of discipline construction, talent cultivation, teaching staff, industry-education integration, enrollment and employment, and international cooperation, and that the achievement of various eye-catching results is inseparable from the collective dedication of all NJCIT people. Noting that 2026 is the opening year of the “15th Five-Year Plan”, he encouraged all to focus on high-quality development to enhance comprehensive school-running strength, focus on the construction of “Double High” professional groups to create a benchmark for core competitiveness, win the battle for school-running capacity evaluation to demonstrate an image of excellence, and accumulate strength to create conditions for vocational undergraduate status to plan a new chapter of development. He called on all faculty and students to unite and innovate, contributing the strength of the college to building a first-class high-level vocational college in China and serving the modernization of Jiangsu.

The convention officially released the “Top Ten News of NJCIT 2025”, which connected the key nodes and coordinates of the school’s annual development through video; every news item is a profound mark of the spiritual growth of NJCIT people.

Chapter Three: Paying Tribute to Role Models · Gathering Radiance

In the commendation session, seven groups of advanced collectives and individuals that emerged in the school in 2025 were grandly commended. School leaders successively presented awards to representatives for comprehensive honors, talent categories, Party building and ideological-political work, teaching achievements, competitions, and scientific research projects. Secretary Kong Jie and President Tian Min presented awards to representatives of excellent units in the internal performance appraisal of functional departments and secondary teaching departments.

During the convention, the “Top Ten Figures of NJCIT 2025” were officially unveiled. Party Secretary Kong Jie and President Tian Min jointly presented flowers and honorary trophies to the winning representatives.

Professor Wang Chunfeng, a faculty representative, National Skills Master Studio lead, and National Excellent Teacher, took the stage to share his reflections. He expressed gratitude to the school as a fertile ground for education and paid tribute to the predecessors who interpreted the essence of being a teacher through dedication and responsibility; he noted that as an educator, from the day one chooses the podium, one shoulders the mission of cultivating virtue and people. He stated frankly that his nearly twenty-year teaching career at NJCIT has been a process of resonance and mutual growth with the school, leading to a deep understanding of education. He believes that loving students is the source of vitality for education, the team is the strong foundation for success, and the school is the fertile ground where teachers and students achieve value for one another. The development of the college has provided a broad platform for teachers, and currently, as the school is at the critical stage of striving for vocational undergraduate status, it is even more necessary to integrate personal ideals into the overall development of the school to achieve mutual success for personal growth and school development.

The choir of the University Student Art Troupe performed the song “Wan Jiang”, conveying patriotic sentiments with an uplifting spiritual outlook.

Chapter Four: Passing the Torch · Eternal Heart of the Teacher

The school held an Induction Commemorative Ceremony, awarding commemorative medals to faculty representatives who have been in service for ten, twenty, and thirty years. Secretary Kong Jie, President Tian Min, and Deputy Secretary Qian Qunlei presented medals to the respective batches of faculty representatives, paying tribute to their decades-long persistence and dedication to education.

In the retirement ceremony session, everyone watched the short video “Tribute · Gratitude · Blessing”, reviewing the educational careers of the retired faculty and staff. Secretary Kong Jie and President Tian Min presented flowers and retirement commemorative medals to the representatives of the retired faculty and staff.

Retired faculty representative Wang Lan took the stage to speak, expressing her deep gratitude and appreciation to the school with profound emotion. She stated that retirement marks the beginning of a new stage in life, but she will always keep the school in her heart and remains ready to contribute to its development at any time; she remarked that having a career in education, walking alongside colleagues, and being accompanied by youth has been the fortune and glory of her life. Her words were filled with deep attachment to the school, reluctance to part with colleagues, and earnest expectations for the younger generation.

Students from the Smile Radio Station performed a poetry recitation titled “Teachers’ Grace Nurtures NJCIT, Dreaming Starts a New Journey” to express their respect and blessings to all teachers. 

Chapter Five: New Talents Joining · Continuing the Splendid Chapter

All representatives of the 2025 newly recruited faculty took a solemn oath under the leadership of Professor Yu Baoming, a National Distinguished Teacher, pledging their firm commitment to education and teaching.

Ms. Chen Ruonan from the School of Marxism spoke as the representative of new teachers. She expressed that she felt deeply honored to join NJCIT and is well aware that her journey in education has just begun; the persistence and dedication of her predecessors in the school have given her a profound understanding of a teacher’s responsibility. As a teacher of the School of Marxism, she understands that vocational ideological and political courses must align with majors, student conditions, and industrial development, and the cohesive atmosphere of the school has provided strong support for her growth. She will remain true to her original intention of education, practice diligently, and write a new chapter of education on the podium with youth and hard work.

During the convention, the dance troupe of the University Student Art Troupe performed the dance “Spring Excursion in the Rain”, interpreting the vitality and elegance of NJCIT people in the new era through youthful movements.

Chapter Six: Navigating the Direction · Singing for the Future Together

Party Secretary Kong Jie delivered a speech. He pointed out that this summary and commendation convention reviewed the journey of struggle in 2025 and commended advanced collectives, individuals, and outstanding achievements in various fields of teaching and scientific research, all of which embody the blood and wisdom of every “NJCIT person”. On behalf of the School Party Committee, he expressed sincere gratitude to the retired faculty and staff and a warm welcome to the newly recruited teachers. Secretary Kong Jie specified that 2026 is a crucial year for the school to start the new journey of the “15th Five-Year Plan” and move toward higher educational goals. Facing new opportunities and challenges in vocational education, he encouraged all faculty and staff to unite, forge ahead with high morale and a pragmatic style, and strive to write a new chapter in the high-quality development of the school. Meanwhile, he also extended New Year greetings to all faculty and staff, wishing everyone success in work, good health, and family happiness.

In the final part of the meeting, all attendees stood and sang the school song “Bloom” together, integrating all glory, emotion, and expectation into the song. Amidst the resounding school song, the convention came to a close.

This convention was not only a comprehensive review of the educational achievements of Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology in 2025 but also a spiritual baptism of paying tribute to role models, inheriting the heart of teachers, and welcoming new talents. All NJCIT people will uphold the school motto of “Virtue, Ability, Standards, Innovation”, remember the glory and emotion of the convention, interpret educational responsibility through diligent practice and solid work, and move forward hand in hand with one heart and one mind on the new journey to jointly draw a brand-new blueprint for the high-quality development of the school.
